This episode starts with me vibing to Marvin Gaye, setting the tone for my recent birthday self-cation. I found myself stuck in the seventies and eighties, enjoying an easy-going vibe in a great Airbnb. I had a wonderful time, feeling like I was working and relaxing with music in the background. I’m officially 39 years old, and despite the bones cracking, I had an amazing time on my self-cation.
My wonderful friend, Mr. Al Pete, is joining me today as we discuss the difficulty of coming back from a self-cation and the importance of making time for oneself. We also dive into the topic of trust, specifically self-trust, and how it diminishes when things don’t go as planned or when we put our trust in the wrong people.
Self-cation is Good for Your Health.
During my self-cation, I had a moment of courage while learning to float in the deep end of the pool, even though I couldn’t swim. This experience reminded me of the importance of trusting oneself. We discuss how to regain self-trust, emphasizing the need for self-awareness, keeping promises to oneself, and practicing self-compassion and grace.
We also touch on the importance of someone reassuring you and validating your efforts, especially in a work environment. Validation helps build trust in oneself and boosts confidence. This episode is about embracing and not taking those crown moments for granted.
